A PAIR of Solihull pupils have helped spread joy among new residents at a new housing development.
As part of a Welcome Home project, housebuilder David Wilson Homes approached Haslucks Green Junior School and asked the children to design greeting cards that can be handed out to new home buyers at the Hampton in Arden community.
Year 6 pupils, Jesse and Siyona, were crowned the winners of the competition by the five-star housebuilder and will now see their cards distributed to residents at the growing development on Lapwing Drive.
Helen Street, headteacher at Haslucks Green Junior School, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Jesse and Siyona for their wonderful designs and the happiness they’ve brought to new residents at Ashtree Grove.
“This project has been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate creativity and community spirit, and it’s lovely to see our pupils’ work making a real impact.”
Jesse’s design featured a street scene with a house taking centre stage, whilst Siyona’s artwork had a series of floral drawings and a bird box at the forefront.
Both pupils received brand-new art sets from David Wilson Homes for winning the competition to ensure their creativity can continue to flow.
Chanda Chileshe, head of sales at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “It’s important to us to make new residents feel welcome as they join our new communities, and we’re thankful to the pupils of Haslucks Green Junior School for helping us to do just that.
“We hope that receiving a message from a local school pupil will put a smile on our customers’ faces when moving into their new home.
