TACKLING vehicle crime and engaging with Silhillians have been on the cards for police teams across the borough.
The Smith’s Wood team met young people at a youth club to talk to them about policing.
Chelmsley Wood officers were met those with learning disabilities and autism at a church to hear about local issues and concerns.
And the St Alphege team chatted with residents at a specialist dementia care home – making sure all voices in the community are heard.
Vehicle crime has been spoken about and three stolen vehicles have been recovered by neighbourhood officers in Solihull, including one which was recovered thanks to community intelligence about its location.
On Frankholme Drive 19 speeding drivers were caught in an hour, and Dorchester Road where 14 speeding drivers were caught.
Solihull Police said: “We’re also working hard to tackle shop theft, which has been a real focus for the Smith’s Wood, Kingshurst, and Castle Bromwich teams – and in just two days last week, three people were arrested on suspicion of stealing from shops in the area.
“Officers work closely with businesses to prevent shop theft, but will take action against those selling illegal goods, as teams showed by attending a shop in Castle Bromwich and seizing more than 150 vapes ,and more than 1,000 illicit cigarettes.”
