Police want to speak with men over alleged ATM distraction thefts in Shirley

POLICE have released images of two men they want to speak week following alleged distraction thefts at ATM machines in Shirley.

West Midlands Police said over the past couple of weeks, it has received reports of men matching the same descriptions targeting elderly people around ATM machines by distracting them and stealing their card while doing so.

According to the force thousands of pounds have then been stolen using the cards.

An investigation has been launched.

Sergeant Amrit Nepaul, from Solihull Police, said: “We are following several lines of enquiries to identify these two men.

“We ask for people to be vigilant when using ATM machines, and keep your belongings safe.”
