KIND-HEARTED Solihull volunteers have been thanked for their efforts in the fight against cancer.

Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, Solihull West and Shirley MP visited a Cancer Research UK shop in Solihull to see the hard-work put in to sorting donations and keeping the shelves full.

In 2023/24 alone, volunteers across the charity’s network of shops donated over 2.5 million hours of their time, raising £28million to support pioneering, life-saving research.

The Conservative MP said: “Cancer affects so many families here in Solihull and Shirley, as well as up and down the country.

“The commitment of the volunteers in Cancer Research UK shops not only raises vital funds but also embodies the very best of community spirit.

“It was a privilege to meet them, hear their stories, and learn more about the incredible work they make possible.”
