A HALL Green church is set to open its doors as part of Birmingham Heritage week.
The Church of the Ascension was consecrated in 1704 and it is an example of a Queen Anne style Church.
The transepts and chancel were added in the 1860s to give the School Road Church its overall cruciform (cross shape) and it is still a place of active Christian worship to this day.
From 11am until 2pm on September 13 volunteers will be on hand to show visitors around the grade two listed church and tell them about its history, free of charge.
Reverend Nejib Boumenjel, Vicar said: “We love to welcome visitors to our historic church which has served the community here in Hall Green for 321 years.
“Everyone is welcome, whether you have never visited before, are a regular visitor or have a past connection with the Church.
“Tea, coffee, biscuits and squash will be available free of charge along with information about the work that the Church does in the community today.”
