A SCHEME offering unsung heroes support from local leisure facilities in Solihull has announced its successful applicant.
Solihull Wheels for All has been given a boost from Everyone Active in the borough as part of the leisure operator’s Community Champions scheme to support projects which are tackling local issues and changing lives.
Solihull Wheels for All a project which provides inclusive cycling for all – including enabling people with a disability or restricted mobility to experience the thrill and fun of wheeled recreation.
The project was created to promote community involvement in cycling, for the benefit of those living or working within Solihull and the surrounding areas.
Solihull Wheels for All will secure use of facilities within Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, to help them carry out their work.
Everyone Active will raise awareness of this work to strengthen connections, encourage civic engagement and foster a culture of giving back.
The project is also eligible to be shortlisted for the annual Everyone Active Champions Awards.
Gary Christian, chairman of Solihull Wheels for All, said: “We’re excited to be included in this scheme and have a long-established relationship with Everyone Active since 2019 as an independent charity. We hope this continues for many years to come.
