DAREDEVILS are set to defy gravity as they take on a charity abseil.

NHS staff members from Solihull Hospital will be making their way down from the top of No. 3 Brindleyplace to raise money for Solihull Hospital Charity on September 20.

Andrew Clements, director of operations at Solihull Hospital and Community Services has teamed up with Jen Weigham, associate director of communications and engagement and Ursula Hare, deputy director of nursing to take on the charity abseil.

Andrew said: “I’m looking forward to taking part in the abseil alongside Jen and Ursula.

“It’s a great way to raise money for Solihull Hospital Charity and an opportunity to really make a difference to patients going through treatment at the hospital and within the community, as well as supporting the staff caring for them.

“It’s important for me to give back and support the hospital charity and the great work it does, funding added extras to enhance the patient experience at Solihull Hospital and Community Services.”

The trio will be joined by other fundraisers who will be raising money for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity

The hospital charities support patients, their families and staff by funding added extras that are “over and above” what the NHS can fund.

They fund a variety of appeals and projects, from life-saving research and pioneering equipment as well as ward refurbishments, peaceful outdoor spaces, toys to help distract children when visiting hospital, and activities to support patient wellbeing.
