A FOOTBALL thug who kicked a boy in the face during disorder in Solihull has been jailed.
Camron Brockman lashed out at the 16-year-old while he was on the ground.
The teenager was left with facial injuries following the attack ahead of an FA Cup game between Solihull Moors and Maidstone United in November.
Brockman was serving a football banning order at the time of the violence so should have been nowhere near the fixture.
The Kent resident pleaded guilty to wounding during a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.
The 20-year-old also admitted a separate offence of affray in Southend – again ahead of football – back in 2023.
He was sentenced to a total of two years and 11 months imprisonment.
Brockman also received a fresh seven-year Football Banning Order.
PC Stuart Ward, from West Midlands Police football unit, said: “Brockman came to Solihull knowing he was banned from attending the fixture and committed a violent attack in the town centre before the game.
“He kicked the boy so hard he sustained really nasty facial injuries.
“We won’t tolerate any kind of violence and thanks to the support of the public in providing information, and our colleagues at Kent Police, we were able to identify him. He has now rightly lost his freedom.”
Superintendent Alan Rogers of Kent Police said: “Camron Brockman had a Football Banning Order for a reason, and that is because he has proven to be a violent individual who cannot be trusted to behave responsibly when attending matches.
“We have a good relationship with the football teams in our county and work closely with other forces to ensure law-abiding football supporters can watch their team play without having to worry about the mindless actions of a minority of troublemakers.
“Brockman was recognised by us as such an individual and we are pleased to have been able to assist West Midlands Police in bringing him to justice.”
