DAN Creaney scored a stunning volley in vain as Solihull Moors lost 4-2 against Championship side Derby County in pre-season.
Creaney and Cameron Green both scored stunners for Moors only for strikes from Ebou Adams, Danny Batth, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu to secure victory for the Rams at Damson Park.
Moors broke the deadlock in style on 15 minutes when Creaney lashed a sensational volley from Oscar Rutherford’s cross into the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area.
However, Derby drew level on 24 minutes as Gambia international Adams forced a header past Laurie Walker at the back post following a cross from the left.
Solihull restored their lead on the half-hour mark when Green lashed a low effort through a crowd of bodies into the bottom right corner from 25-yards out.
The visitors equalised for a second time in first-half injury time as Batth rose highest to head in a corner from the right from eight-yards out.
And the Rams completed the turnaround on 57 minutes when Blackett-Taylor sent Walker the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Derby sealed the win on 68 minutes when Agbawodikeizu raced through and delicately lifted the ball over Walker when one-on-one.
Solihull are next in action against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday, August 2 with kick-off at 1pm at Aggborough.
