FLOWERS stood proud as hundreds visited the St Bernard’s in Bloom Open Gardens.
More than 1,000 residents plus children visited the 14 gardens in Olton and helped raise over £11,000 for the Stroke Association.
As well as floral displays gardens were also open for tea and cake, plant sales and the Pimms garden.
There was also live bands who entertained the crowds throughout the afternoon and a display of vintage Austin cars supplied by members of the Austin Ten Drivers’ Club.
Lucy Burnip, partnerships officer from the Stroke Association said: “It was a delight to attend this highly successful fund-raising event on behalf of the Stroke Association.
“I would like to say thank you to the organisers of St Bernard’s Open Gardens for all their support.
“The money they have raised will help to fund lifesaving stroke research and means we can be there for even more people after a stroke.”
