A SOLIHULL teenager has been convicted for his part in stealing a pick-up truck.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested within hours of the theft, which saw a pick-up truck stolen from a hotel in Solihull on June 17.
The teen was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle a day later.
Following enquiries by the Solihull LPA investigations department, the stolen vehicle was tracked to London, where it was recovered by officers from the Met Police.
Appearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court, the boy pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in July.
PC Emily Fowler, from Solihull LPA, said: “This was an excellent response to a crime report, with the vehicle tracked and suspect arrested within a couple of hours of the theft taking place.
“We were able to reunite the vehicle with its owner and ensure the person responsible for the theft faced justice.”
