SOLIHULL Moors have retained key defender James Clarke for the 2025/26 season.

Clarke has made more than 150 appearances for Moors since joining from Mansfield Town on a permanent basis in March 2022.

The 25-year-old has appeared in two play-off finals with Solihull and also featured in the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 2023/24.

Clarke said: “I can’t wait to get started again. This is a special club for me and everyone has made me feel so at home.

“The fans have been incredible and I want to repay them with the success they deserve.

“I’m ambitious, like everyone else in that dressing room, and we have added some really good players this summer so it’s an exciting time for everyone involved and I’m happy to be able to play my part in trying to move the club forward.”

Moors head coach, Matt Taylor added: “From the first day I arrived I could see how much James meant to this club.

“He sets the standard every day in training and his professionalism plays a huge part in helping build the culture and environment that we strive for as coaches.

“Not only is he a talented player but an outstanding teammate and the type of character we want at this football club.

“We as a group of staff have always wanted Clarkey to be part of the squad for the upcoming season and we are delighted he has committed to the club.”
