THE WEATHER played its part as runners took on the 40th Knowle Fun Run at the weekend.
Serious runners, fun runners, mini runners and fancy dress runners all converged on Arden School for the charity fund-raiser organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions.
To celebrate the 40th year milestone, friend of Knowle Fun Run, Jasper Carrott, presented the winners’ trophies.
Meriden and Solihull East MP, Saqib Bhatti was cheering on runners who took on one of the four children’s races or the 5km or 10km races.
Organisers said the number of registrations was a post-covid record, up around 1,300 entries.
And their efforts look set to have netted around £25,000 for Age UK Solihull and Solihull Social Life and opportunities (SoLO)
Knowle and Dorridge Lion, Mark Sutton, said: “The Knowle Fun Run 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together the community for a day of fitness, fun, and fundraising.
“Whether running competitively or for charity, participants showcased determination and camaraderie, making this annual event a highlight in Knowle’s calendar.
“As usual, the streets of Knowle were lined with supporters encouraging on all the runners and generating a fabulous atmosphere.
“The event has been in planning since June 2024 and came together through the hard work and commitment of the few remaining Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club members with contributions from over a hundred helpers.
“The Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club is in dire need of new members.
“As a result, the future of this established event is uncertain.”
