AN ACOCKS Green school has been shortlisted for a top award.
Ninestiles, an Academy, which is part of Summit Learning Trust, is one of only four schools shortlisted by the Education Awards for Secondary School of the Year.
This award is for the most outstanding secondary education establishment and, when making their decisions, judges look for evidence of how the school works as an establishment on its own and within the community that it is part of.
Summit Learning Trust is also one of only three trusts in the running for the Transforming Lives Through Partnerships award.
This category recognises educational settings who have transformed the life chances for young people through effective partnership working with organisations offering their services.
Vince Green, chief executive of Summit Learning Trust said: “We are delighted to see Ninestiles, an Academy, recognised as a strong secondary school.
“This shortlisting is testament to the dedication, ambition, and hard work of our staff members, learners, and the entire school community.
“I am also proud that Summit Learning Trust has been shortlisted for the ‘Transforming Lives Through Partnerships’ award.
“This reflects our unwavering commitment to working collaboratively to improve life chances for every young person we serve.
“These nominations celebrate the impact of our shared values and collective efforts across our family of academies, our wider community through the work of The Education Exchange West Midlands and of our other partners.”
The awards ceremony will be held in July at Birmingham’s Millennium Point.
