CARE HOME residents took a step back in time to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Blossomfield Grange pulled out all the stops to commemorate the poignant anniversary and hosted a 1940s-themed street party with delicious food, music and dancing as they recapture the spirit of the day.
Guests enjoyed a commemorative afternoon tea prepared by the homes head chef, Matthew Burke.
Resident Stanley Fisher, 100, said: “It was a historic moment and definitely cause for celebration but also reflection. We certainly had a few drinks that day.”
Jag Singh, general manager at Blossomfield Grange, said: “We had a wonderful time celebrating VE Day 80 with residents, their families and the Solihull community.
“Everyone was in high spirits as we marked this momentous occasion, but we also took time to reflect on the poignancy of the milestone.”
