BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees extended their season with a dominant 85-31 victory against Brackley in the Papa John’s Community Cup.
The Bees ran in an impressive 13 tries to claim a comprehensive win at Brackley’s Nightingale Close ground.
Solihull scored seven first-half tries as Ryan Sleaford crossed twice while Pete Gordon, Lewis Edwards, PJ Hatch and Joe Davies all dotted down.
And a penalty try added to the away side’s total as the Bees took a commanding 43-5 lead into the break.
An early try from Cole Elleman stretched Solihull’s advantage before Brackley rallied with four tries of their own.
However, Hatch and Elleman both crossed for their second tries of the game before Jack Allen, Harry Garratt and Will Heath all touched down.
The Bees will play Coventry Welsh in the quarter-finals of the competition with the game to take place over two legs.
The first leg takes place on Saturday, April 26 at Portway with the second leg to take place at Coventry Welsh’s Burbages Lane ground on Saturday, May 3.
Both legs will kick-off at 3pm.
