A KIND-HEARTED social enterprise has donated £10,000 to Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes Service (WSBB).

SWFT Clinical Services, LTD, a subsidiary company of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust gave the funds as it wanted to support partner organisations of the NHS that can be life saving for many.

As a social enterprise, profits generated by SWFT Clinical Services Ltd can be re-invested back into services that support the health and wellbeing of the populations it services.

WSBB save the NHS time and transport costs by delivering lifesaving medical supplies including blood, platelets, samples, X-rays and medical equipment, free of charge.

To support patient care, they also deliver drugs where and when they are needed. Made up of a team of volunteers who give their time freely to transport and deliver the vital supplies, it is a great example of how valuable volunteers are to the NHS.

Chrissie Smith, chair of WSBB, said “We are proud to support our NHS, and the generous donation received from SWFT Clinical Services will go towards keeping our fleet on the road, enabling our volunteers to carry out vital work.”

Renchu Hesketh, Chief Executive of SWFT Clinical Services Ltd, said: “The collaboration between SWFT Clinical Services Ltd, the Trust and local partners, like the Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes, is a great example of how a social enterprise can help create new opportunities for working together to benefit our local communities and support healthcare.

“There’s so much enthusiasm within the company to support opportunities that make a real difference to local people.”
