THE CLOCK is ticking for dog lovers to sign their four-legged friends up for Woofs 2025.
This family-friendly and fur-tastic event is set to take place on March 16 at Brueton Park to raise money for St Basils homelessness charity.
Woofs 2025 isn’t just about fun for dogs and their owners; it’s about making a real difference.
St Basils runs several accommodation projects in Solihull that allow pets, ensuring young people facing homelessness don’t have to part with their beloved companions.
The funds raised from Woofs will go directly into supporting these projects, as well as St Basils’ Solihull Youth Hub, which provides crucial support for young people in crisis.
Barrie Hodge, head of fundraising and communications at St Basils, added: “Woofs is more than just a fun day out – it’s a way for the community to come together in the beautiful surroundings of Brueton Park, a place dogs will absolutely love.
“Homelessness in Solihull is rising, and young people without family support are among those suffering most.
“Every penny raised at Woofs goes directly back into the community, providing housing and vital support for young people in need. It’s a fantastic way for dog owners to make a real impact while enjoying a great day out.”
Animal Kind, which has supported St Basils for four years, will be at the event offering free advice to dog owners and running an exciting agility course where dogs can have a go and pick up expert tips along the way.
Chris from Animal Kind said: “We really enjoy being part of this growing event that gives people new ways to bond and stay fit with their dog. Basic dog agility is for everyone, not just competitors, and running with your dog – called CaniX – is becoming ever more popular.
“We aim to help participants warm up for Woofs, answer questions, and our courses provide a stepping stone to good all-round dogs who can do anything, anywhere! It’s a fantastic opportunity to have fun with your four-legged friend while supporting a vital local cause.”
