RESIDENTS at a Shirley care home welcomed a special visitor.
Prancer made a stop at Barchester’s Fountains Care Home from a family-run alpaca farm in the region brought smiles, laughter, and gave a sense of tranquillity to staff and residents.
The special event was arranged to help promote well-being, and display what a therapeutic impact of these animals.
Sheila, a resident at Fountains Care Home said: “It was wonderful, he was so soft and beautiful. I was really pleased to be able to get up close and touch this beautiful creature.”
Zara Friend, deputy manager for Fountains Care Home, said: “We are excited to work with our amazing local farmers to bring a wide range of fantastic experiences into our homes for all to enjoy, particularly as this visit provided such a lovely opportunity to see the alpacas up close and learn all kinds of fascinating facts about them.
