A MAN has died following a fatal collision in Castle Bromwich.

West Midlands Police said it was called to Water Orton Road at around 2.10pm on November 28 following a collision involving a motorcyclist and a van.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said it sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the West Midlands Care Team and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the scene.

A WMAS spokesman said: “Crews arrived to discover one patient, a man, in a critical condition.

“He was already receiving basic life support from bystanders before ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

“However, despite everyone’s best efforts it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The road was closed while investigations took place.

Inspector Andy Bridgewater, from Solihull police station, said: “We understand that people and pupils will be concerned and we can confirm that we do not believe that the collision involved anyone from the school.

“However, there may have been a number of witnesses and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything that could help our investigation to come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 2537 of November 28.
