UNPAID carers are being called on to have their say on Council services at a workshop on Friday (November 22).
Solihull Council is inviting people who care for a family member or friend in Solihull to join a workshop and help the Council to redesign support services for unpaid carers.
From 10am until 1pm there will be topics included access to support services, helping carers to feel less isolated, and emergency support, at the Council’s Civic Suite.
Councillor Tony Dicicco, cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Health, said: “We’ve recently set up a carers’ forum to help us improve support for carers in the borough.
“At the first meeting carers told us they want to come together in person and share their views and experiences with council officers. This workshop is the opportunity to do just that.
“The latest census tells us there are about 20,000 people in Solihull with caring responsibilities but we’re confident that’s an underestimate.
“If you’re not an unpaid carer, you’re likely to know someone who is. Please help us to spread the word and encourage the carers you know to get involved.”
