A BENTLEY Heath newsagents hosted a mental health drop in clinic to mark World Mental Health Day.

Widney News joined forces with Mind in Knowle to host the pop up clinic on October 10 to mark the international event which focused on mental health in the workplace this year.

The event at the Slater Road family business was supported by Solihull Mayor, Councillor Shahin Ashraf MBE, Mondelez International, Walkers, Mind in Knowle, Lisa Flowers Floral Design and Pepe’s Super Whip .

Simon Phillips, proprietor said: “One in four of us in any given year will suffer with mental ill health, that’s 25% of the population.

“Our aim is to help raise awareness of the issue and to help reduce the stigma and discrimination that still surrounds it by breaking down barriers and starting conversations to encourage people to access help and support.”

This event comes after the success of last year’s World Mental Health Day event and Time to Talk day in February this year.
