Women encouraged to pick up a tennis racket again ahead of Wimbledon

Solihull Editorial 4th Jun, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

WITH Wimbledon just a couple of weeks away, a Solihull tennis club has teamed up with the LTA to encourage women players to return to the sport.

‘Tennis Tuesdays’ is aimed at individuals who have probably not picked up a racquet since school, college or university – or since having children.

The programme is running at Blossomfield Club in Widney Road throughout the summer from 6pm.

Each week’s hour-long session focuses on a different area of the game, with participants enjoying professional coaching plus matchplay with women of a similar level.

Use of the Blossomfield courts, coaching and racquet hire is included in the £7.50 session fee – reducing to £6 per session for a six week block.

Tennis Tuesdays is open to non members who can also take advantage of £100 discount on Blossomfield Club membership – down to £159.

Anyone interested should contact head coach Claire Williamson on 07977 432045 or email [email protected] or visithttps://clubspark.lta.org.uk/TennisTuesdays
