ALL three Solihull Municipal sides recorded wins on Saturday in the Warwickshire Cricket League.

Municipal captain Kevin Bissett lost the toss but was delighted as Alex Roslyn and Shoaib Masoob restricted Barby to 21-2 off 20 overs, with the former conceding just one run in his 10 overs. Will Sinclair 53* and Tom Gleghorn 31 were the main contributors as Barby closed on 139-6 from their 50 overs, with Safdar Ali 3/53 being the most successful bowler.

Despite the early loss of Jamie Bissett and Jon Stanley for ducks, a composed 48 from Mike Rowley and 57 from Roslyn in a 3rd wicket stand of 86 broke the back of the task. Gleghorn with 2/22 was the pick of the home attack as Municipal won by six wickets.

The second X1 defeated Barby by eight wickets after dismissing the visitors for 92. Tom Hughes grabbed 3 wickets inside his first two overs and despite Tom Middleton 30 and Joe Bermingham 21 the middle and lower order were teased out by Ian Hughes 2/25 and David Acton 4/29 before Tom Hughes 4/16 wrapped up the innings. Ian Hughes 24 and Gary Edwards 23 shared an opening stand of 61 before Bermingham removed both but Nick Stuart 34* and Gary Skipp 0* made sure of victory and a maximum 24 points.

The 3rd X1 rattled up 235/4 against Bronze before removing the visitors for 79. Paul Tisdell 50 John Stanley 33 Nathan Reynolds 49 and Josh Dallow 32* all enjoyed batting in the sunshine as the bowlers toiled despite Arvaz 2/44. The Bronze reply was undone early on by Martyn Cox 3/21 before Dan Cave ran through the lower order for his 3/17.

This weekend sees the 1sts travel to Bronze with the 2nds hosting their counterparts, whilst the 3rds are away at Selly Park.
