LOOKERS Vauxhall in Yardley has gone the extra mile by becoming the title sponsor for the Solihull Barons’ current season in the National Ice Hockey League (NHIL).

Renamed the Lookers of Yardley Solihull Barons IHC, the team currently play in the N1 Moralee Conference after securing promotion as league winners last season.

Whilst the sponsorship deal will primarily help to support the club throughout the season with the costs of both training and matches, Lookers of Yardley is also on board to help support captain Rob Eley’s testimonial year.

Hanging up his skates at the end of the season after an illustrious career at the Barons, Rob aims to raise over £20,000 for the Heart of England NHS Foundation as part of his “19 for 19” campaign.

To help support the campaign, Lookers will be helping Rob to offer a brand new car as part of a fundraising prize draw.

Mark Bryan, General Manager at Lookers Vauxhall Yardley, said: “We’re passionate about delivering great service, which we think fits perfectly with the team’s passion and ambition on the ice. We wish them all the best for the season ahead and look forward to being involved with the “19 for 19” campaign too.”

Rob Eley, captain of the Lookers of Yardley Solihull Barons IHC, added: “It’s great to have Lookers of Yardley on board as our main sponsor this season; the financial support is invaluable in allowing us to grow and develop as a club.

“I’m also extremely grateful to the Lookers team for their support with my testimonial year campaign, and look forward to working with them throughout the year both on and off the ice.”
