LIAM Delves scored a brace of top ten finishes at the second round of the British Motostar Championship in Kent.

Following his strong showing at Donington in round one, Delves finished ninth in the first race despite being down to 12th position at one point.

And in the next race he crossed the finish line in eighth position which moved him up to seventh place in the rider standings on 38 points.

After completing his free practice in a fine fourth place Liam went on to qualify tenth for the start of Saturday’s opener. Starting from the 11th row Liam took it steady on the first lap taking time to settle into his race rhythm. On lap one of 15 Liam was down in 12th place but soon began to make headway and on lap four was up into 10th position. On Lap eight he once again moved forward to ninth and although he was very close to the rider ahead he was unable to make a pass and crossed the finish line in a comfortable ninth place to pick up seven championship points.

“I got a rubbish start in the first race but managed to make up a few places as the race went on.” said Delves.

“I was having a few issues with my leathers and was not too comfortable throughout the race.

“The second was a better ride. I am quite happy to come away from Brands Hatch with two respectable results and I have to thank Pete Banks for giving me a fantastic bike again this weekend, Crucial Sauces and all my sponsors for their support plus I also have to thank Oxford Products as they are to sponsor me which is a great help to my racing budget.”

The next round is over the May Day Bank Holiday of May 2-4 and takes place at the Cheshire Park circuit at Oulton in Cheshire.
