STAR BAKER Viv Dobson served up a special tennis treat both on and off court to celebrate the official re-opening of Solihull Tennis Club.
The club, based at Tippett’s Field, welcomed the Lord Mayor – Coun Mike Robinson – and Mayoress of Solihull to try out the newly opened courts as well as judging the Solihull Tennis Club Bake-off.
Skills in the kitchen was combined with talent on the court as members displayed their culinary skills and tennis ability at the celebration event.
The competition proved to be fierce, though Viv Dobson took first place with Nicky Rinnhofer in second and Harry Brownsword a close third place.
To mark the grand opening, the club is inviting new members to join for both social and competitive tennis – with Ladies and Mens teams practising on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
