TEENAGER Elise Glynn will be hoping to deliver a knockout punch this weekend when she takes to the ring for the England ABA Junior School Girl quarter-finals in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The 14-year-old will be the youngest fighter competing in the quarter-final this Saturday and her potential opponents include current and previous National Champions as well as unbeaten boxers.

Solihull boxer Elise trains at Solihull Solihull Community Amateur Boxing Club and head into her fight in high spirits having recently beaten Brook Eaton, who was the London School Girl Champion, at a charity boxing evening on March 4.

After a spirited and courageous display by both boxers, Elise won by a unanimous decision at the National Motorcycle Museum to prevent her opponent claiming a ninth career win.

Elise is trained by her father Peter Glynn and she was recently invited to become part of the England Amateur Boxing Association Junior Talent Programme.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the young Solihull boxer to assist with travelling and equipment costs should contact her father via e mail [email protected].
