Urgent Care Centre at Solihull Hospital gets the green light

PLANS for to start work on the first phase the Urgent Care Centre at Solihull Hospital have been given the green light.

Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT), which runs Solihull Hospital, and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have been working together on the project to create a single integrated service round the clock for all urgent care needs under one roof on the Lode Lane site.

Phase one of the plans will incorporate the Walk-In Centre, which is currently in a temporary building, within the Solihull Hospital footprint.

Solihull MP, Julian Knight, said: “I welcome that the new management at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust have decided to green-light this much-needed Urgent Care Centre.

“It’s disappointing that the community has had to wait so long for this facility – although we must never forget the very valuable work done by those who work at the current walk-in centre.”
