A TEAM of students from The Sixth Form College have stretched themselves to the limit to take part in a Sports Science Masterclass at Birmingham City University.
The sporting BTEC students took part in a whole host of sports science tests and tested their stamina skills against sporting champions – including Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton on the Watt Bike.
The students pushed themselves to extreme lengths in a series of rowing challenges, strength tests and tested their cat-like reactions on the BATAK wall – used by Formula One drivers, cricket players and goal keepers.
They also had a sneak peak at the technology used in sport and tested their aerodynamic heads in a mobile wind tunnel.
Sixth Form College sport teacher, Maxine White said: “It was a fantastic experience and we must thank our hosts BCU for supporting our students with this masterclass. Everyone enjoyed themselves and they learned a lot.”
