Solihull Sixth Form enjoys best-ever results too

The Sixth Form College, Solihull are celebrating exam success, as A level results were published nationwide today. The College has achieved a best ever 431 starred grades (A* at A level and Distinction* at BTEC level) and a pass rate of 98.2%.

Among the exam excellence, 568 students got all higher grades at advanced level (A-C at A Level or BTEC merit or above), of which 134 students obtained at least three or more A/A* grades at A Level or distinction/distinction* grades in BTEC courses.

Outstanding results have been achieved across many subject areas. Indeed, there was a 100% pass rate in 28 advanced level subjects. This includes BTEC courses, the results of which were confirmed last month.

College Principal Paul Ashdown said: “I’m delighted and very proud of the results that our students have achieved.




“The number of A* grades and Distinction * grades achieved at A level and BTEC is outstanding and it is reward for all the hard work that students (and their teachers) have put in.

“We are pleased to have helped so many young people progress onto university, further training or employment.”


In total, 886 students have applied to go to university from The Sixth Form College, Solihull this year.
