A SOLIHULL pensioner has been dubbed ‘Mr Costa’ after visiting his local coffee shop for the past 15 years.

Don Bridges has earned himself the title of one of Costa’s most loyal customers after visiting the Mell Square branch every day bar Christmas day since 2005.

The 81-year-old started visiting the cafe weekly before the death of his wife, Connie, and now finds comfort in visiting the staff – many of whom have become his close friends.

Mr Bridges, who describes the store as ‘second to none’, said: “I have been going there for 364 days a year for 15 years.

“Seeing the staff at Costa each day keeps me young.”

Ashley Johnson, store manager at the Solihull Mell Square coffee shop said the pensioner had become ‘part of the family’ at the store.

He added: ” My team have taken the time to get to know Don personally and really look forward to his daily visits.

“I’m proud that they continually provide him with the same warm, welcoming atmosphere and excellent level of service that all of our customers can expect when they visit our Mell Square store.”
