A GROUP of Shirley school seniors have been celebrating their hard work and success completing a special guide challenge.

Nine members of the Fourth Shirley Senior Section have gained the second highest award members can work towards in guiding by finishing the Chief Guide’s Challenge.

The Senior Section programme is based on the eight octants of the Look Wider Scheme.

The group was presented with their badges by Alison Jones, the assistant county commissioner for Girlguiding Warwickshire.

Although the Forth Shirley Rangers is a fairly new unit it has almost twenty members.

They have completed a wide variety of activities, from international trips to volunteering, Zumba to Chinese art, camping and bellboating.

Helen Bailey said: “I was honoured to receive the award as it has been fun, exciting and an interesting journey.

“I cannot thank the unit enough for giving all of us the opportunity to complete it.”
