Health hub provides full support to brave youngster Maddie

A BRAVE young girl is fighting off a rare tumor and is receiving full support from local MK Health Hub team.

Maddie was diagnosed with a rare tumor called Ewing’s Sarcoma at the tender age of eight.

She has suffered an incredible amount of pain as the tumor was situated underneath her left clavicle on a junction of nerves.

Following a 14 month course of intense chemotherapy at Birmingham Children’s Hospital – and then a six week course of Proton Therapy in Oklahoma, USA – Maddie has since returned to the UK and has finished her chemotherapy.

Though Maddie still has over 18 months of scans every three months before she is truly in remission – she has had one unchanged scan, the most positive result on her long journey so far.

Unfortunately, Maddie’s type of tumor is highly aggressive and could come back at any time.

With this in mind, Maddie’s parents have set up a fund in case further treatment is needed in the UK or in the USA – so care can be provided immediately.

Maddie’s Mum, Natalie – a dear friend of MK Health Hub – told the team about her daughter’s battle and immediately inspired those at the Hub.

Tash Littleford from MK Health Hub said: “MK Health Hub is one of the leading personal training locations in the country.

“Our trainers have worked at the highest level in both sport and entertainment, meaning our clients receive the very best one to one coaching and support.

“Matt Kendrick founded the company in 2001 and we were very proud to announce the opening of MK Health Hub in 2014.

“We were all inspired by Maddie’s story and immediately decided to raise money and awareness.

“We have donated 100% of our class taster payments in July to the cause and a large team of both staff and clients of MK Health Hub completed the Wolf Run in September.

“Maddie and her family came along to support the team and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.”

In total, MK Health Hub has raised £1400 for the worthy cause and would like to thank everyone who sponsored the Wolf Run, those who attended class tasters and people who generously donated money at MK Health Hub.
