THE FESTIVE season is now in full swing in Solihull town centre following the weekend’s spectacular light switch-on.

Thousands of people descended on the town centre for a day of seasonal wonders including real snow from snow machines, fantastic LED drummers, Christmas carols, festive cheer and Father Christmas himself.

Observer photographer Jon Mullis captured these images of the 2014 Christmas lights switch-on.
