Public consultation on proposed Hockley Heath Neighbourhood plan closes this week

Solihull Editorial 7th Sep, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

HOCKLEY Heath Parish Council has submitted an application to Solihull Council to designate the parish as a Neighbourhood Area.

The application comes as the Parish Council prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for the area to give local people the opportunity to have more influence on future developments within the area.

If the application is approved by the Council, the Parish Council will be able to start planning the Neighbourhood Plan for the area.

A public consultation on whether the area is appropriate to be designated as a Neighbourhood Area launched on August 11 and closes tomorrow (September 8) at 5pm.

Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Managed Growth, Coun Ian Courts said: “I welcome Hockley Heath Parish Council’s application to develop a Neighbourhood plan.

“It is one way local communities can be more involved in the future development of their area.

“Deciding on the specific area to be considered is the first step in this process and I hope local residents will take part in the consultation.

“We need Hockley Heath residents to let us know their views on the proposed area to be covered.”
