SOLIHULL MP Julian Knight has vowed to continue working hard to ensure the UK can be at its best despite the outcome of yesterday’s EU Referendum.
Talking after the British public decided to leave the EU, Mr Knight reinforced that despite the outcome of the result, he will continue to ensure that the UK gets the best possible deal from negotiations that come about with the EU and beyond.
Mr Knight said: “The British people have spoken and now it’s up to their elected representatives to ensure their wishes are carried out.
“Whatever my publically expressed views were during this campaign, you have my assurance that I will be working hard to ensure that the UK gets the best possible deal from whatever negotiations come about with the EU and beyond.”
Mr Knight also paid testament to outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron stating he served with distinction and delivered promises.
He added: “I wish to pay testament to the Prime Minister who delivered on his promise of a referendum and has now, as a result, taken the decision to step down before the Conservative Party Conference in October.
“Mr Cameron has served with distinction and the dignity displayed in his resignation speech is very true of the man.”
