SERVICEMEN, families of fallen servicemen, Royal British Legion members, local dignitaries and villagers stood shoulder to shoulder to mark the unveiling of a new war memorial in Dorridge on VE Day.
Scores of people braved the rain for the service which included blessings and readings from the Bishop of Birmingham David Urquhart and Solihull Mayor Kate Wild to mark 70 years since the end of the Second World War.
Events were held across the country to mark the occasion.
Observer photographer Jon Mullis was on-hand to pay his respects and capture these images of the new memorial in Dorridge.
