A PETRIFIED mother and her young daughter have cheated death after a careless driver jumped a red-light at a pelican crossing in Hall Green, narrowly missing the stunned pair.
The incident – captured on a fellow motorists’ dash cam – shows the mother pulling back and clutching her daughter when a grey Nissan Micra shot through a red-light, stopping them in their tracks.
The near miss unfolded on June 6 at 12.15pm on the Stratford Road near the Robin Hood Island.
Stephanie Higgins, who filmed the footage and alerted the pedestrian to the speeding car, said: “I saw the Micra in my mirror approaching at speed showing no intention to slow down.
“The driver didn’t show any signs of stopping and I don’t think would have done even if hit them from the speed she was going at.”
