Knowle charity Christmas card shop opens

Solihull Editorial 24th Oct, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

THE MIDLAND Charities Association Christmas Card and Gift Shop in Knowle Library is now open.

Now in its 21st year the shop supports over 20 human relief charities and over 99 per cent of money taken from the sales of Christmas Cards is returned to the charities.

There is also a range of seasonal merchandise, including advent calendars and stocking fillers, the profits from which are also distributed to the Charities.

The shop, which is open during libary hours until December 14, is staffed by a team of volunteers and normally raises around £10,000 each year.

Shop co-organiser Morris Arnold is hoping that this year’s profits will be better than ever as the ‘sister’ shop in Solihull Central Library is unable to open this year.

“We are always so thankful to everyone who supports the shop – whether they be the volunteers who run it or the customers who support it and the many good associated causes,” he said.

“We hope people will help us raise as much money as possible for these wonderful causes.”

Knowle library hours are:

Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10am to 5pm, Thursday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

The library is closed on Wednesdays.
