Kingshurst primary school set for rebuild

Solihull Editorial 15th Sep, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

A KINGSHURST primary school is set to undergo the ultimate makeover – being replaced by a brand new building.

Bosses at Yorkswood Primary have decided to rebuild instead of refurbish the existing school after extensive consultations.

The project is part of Solihull Council’s initiative to regenerate primary schools in North Solihull and will see an increase in capacity to accommodate more pupils.

Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills, Coun Ken Meeson said: “Our intention when debating options for Yorkswood Primary School has always been to improve outcomes for children and enrich the wider local community.

“We hope that this proposal will achieve just that and we look forward to working with the school, parents and local people as we develop our designs.”
