Future looks bright for WMG as sister academy receives top results

YOUNG ENGINEERS across the borough are preparing to start the year at the new WMG Academy whilst its sister academy celebrates its fantastic first set of results.

The finishing touches have been applied and the keys have been handed over to the Academy Trust ahead of its opening in September.

There are high hopes for the engineering academy in Chelmsley Wood after the WMG Academy in Coventry received its first set of A Level results.

The first cohort of engineers passed with flying colours and have gained places at Russell Group Universities and advanced apprenticeships with growing businesses – including Jaguar Land Rover, Arup and Prodrive.

Executive principal, Kate Tague said: “This is a major milestone for our first cohort of students to receive 100% pass rate.

“Our engineering results of 73.3% at A*-C in technical engineering and 85% for 3 A level equivalent at A*-C for BTEC Extended Diploma Engineering is fantastic.

“We are very proud of everything they have achieved and wish them every success for their future careers in Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics.”
