A MAN was to be taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Balsall Common.

A F-type Jaguar and a Land Rover Freelander collided at the junction of Bree’s Lane and Table Oak Lane in Balsall Common at 11.15am on Monday (December 22).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Due to the nature of the driver’s injuries he was given an anaesthetic at the scene.”

He was freed from the wreckage and airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

An area of Holly Lane near to the junction was cordoned off whilst emergency services dealt with the collision.

PC Adam Green, from the Police’s collision investigation unit, is calling for anyone with information to come forward.

He added: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

“If you witnessed the collision then please call me or one of the team.

“The man’s family have been informed and officers continue to liaise with them.”

Anyone with information is urged to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
