INSPIRED by her father’s battle with MS a fitness fanatic will be putting her best foot forward next weekend to raise much-needed funds for Solihull MS Society.

Helen Tuite will be taking part in an Olympic Triathlon on Sunday, July 19, in a bid to raise £1,000 for  to help fund a new physiotherapy exercise class in Shirley.

The former St Peter’s School pupil will line up alongside hundreds of others to complete the mile lake swim, 24-mile bike ride and the the six mile run in Sutton Park.

Helen’s father, Jim Tuite, suffered with MS for over 40 years, and was looked after through all of that time by his wife Norah, who still lives in Shirley.

Helen said: “I have never taken part in an Olympic triathlon before, but I’ve been training all year, so hoping I’ll be able to complete it.

“Seeing what my Dad went through, I just wanted to do something that would help people with MS in a practical way.”
