BT Internet report no suspicion of malicious attack following national internet dilemma

Solihull Editorial 2nd Feb, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

Pockets of BT customers across the UK including in Solihull were left without internet this afternoon (Tuesday).

A company spokeswoman said areas were affected for up to two hours but there was no evidence, at this stage, to suggest the company was subjected to a malicious attack.

She added some customers had been experiencing temporary issues with their broadband but the phone services were not affected and customers were still able to receive and make phone calls as normal.

She added: “We have been working hard to fix the issue and are glad to report that nearly every customer affected is reconnected.

“We apologise to any affected customers for the inconvenience.”
