BERKSWELL Windmill will be open to the public this Saturday (August 13) as part of the National Heritage Open Days happening across the region.
The windmill is one of the most complete windmills in the UK.
It was last used as a working mill to mill flour in 1948, but years of painstaking restoration have returned it to its former glory and it now looks exactly like it did back in the day.
Saturday’s open day will run from 12noon until 4pm and there is a small entrance fee of £3.50 for adults, £1 for under 16s and £8 for a family ticket – the proceeds of which will all be used to maintain the mill.
Cakes and refreshments, including cream teas, will be available throughout the afternoon and there will also be a plant sale and demonstrations by the Coventry Spinners and Weavers.
The address is Windmill Lane, Balsall Common CV7 7GY.
