THERE WERE smiles all round at Solihull Carers Centre when it was recognised as a Centre of Excellence for the help it gives families across the borough.
The centre, at Solihull Fire Annexe, was handed the prestigious accolade from their national body The Carers Trust and to celebrate there will be a open day at the centre on Wednesday, July 29 from 4pm until 7.30pm.
Solihull Carers Centre believes there to be a hidden army of over 24,500 carers in Solihull and exists to provide action, help, advice, emotional support, carers assessments, respite and training for carers – from young carers from the age of five, to young adult and older carers.
The centre is proud to have achieved this at a time when local savings are being made.
The Chair of Solihull Carers Centre, Jane Cove, said: “We are delighted that the work of Solihull Carers Centre has been recognised by an award from Carers Trust.
“This reflects the commitment of the staff to provide an excellent service to carers of all ages in the borough of Solihull and we’re really proud.”
