A FUNFAIR owner has launched a fundraising appeal for ‘much-loved and devoted’ mum Lianne Harris who died after suffering a cardiac arrest on one of his rides last week.

Lianne Harris suffered a cardiac arrest while on the Twister ride with her two young daughters at Robert Wilkinson’s funfair in Sheldon Country Park on Sunday, September 20.

Despite the best efforts of on-site first aiders and emergency crews, Lianne, who was in her 30s, died a short while later at Heartlands Hospital.

Tributes flooded in for the devoted mother from friends, strangers and funfair owner Robert Wilkinson who has now set up the Lianne Harris fund to help raise vital cash to support her family.

Writing on his Facebook site he said: “The Lianne Harris appeal is now live, this is the time for us Brummies to come together to support the children of one of our own who have lost their mom so tragically.

“If you can spare what ever you can without making it hard for yourself and your family please support this appeal.

“To the people who have already made donations we thank you on behalf of the family from the bottom of all our hearts. “Some 22,000 people viewed our post and their comments touched us and that’s what made us do this appeal. “Show us the power of Facebook and how Birmingham people can come together when one of their own needs support.

“Please share this post on your walls and let’s hope to reach 50,000 people this time.

“Love to you all Robert.”
