BOYBAND star, Simon Webbe is preparing to huff and puff and blow audiences away as he takes to the stage in a new musical.
The singer and Strictly Come Dancing star, who made his fame in boyband Blue, will take to the stage as the Big Bad Wolf in a production of The 3 Little Pigs at the Town Hall in Birmingham.
Written by multi-award winning musical theatre song-writing duo behind Mary Poppins, Honk! and Betty Blue Eyes, George Stiles and Anthony Drewe’s imaginative retelling of the classic story, audiences will discover how the three little porkers become world renowned celebrity superstars when forced to leave the warmth of their mother’s overcrowded sty.
Will they cope without their mother’s ‘hogs and kisses’ and will their DIY skills be up to scratch when faced with the Big Bad Wolf?
Speaking about the production, George Stiles and Anthony Drewe said the challenge was creating a new production around the beloved fairytale.
They added: “Our 3 Little Pigs – Bar who loves to exercise, Bee who is “green” to the core, and Q the insatiable bookworm – learn to work together as a team to defeat the Big Bad (but possibly misunderstood) Wolf.
“We love surprising and bewitching our younger audiences, some of whom will be visiting the theatre for the first time.
“We take it as a great responsibility to encourage and nurture audiences of the future, so we try to ensure their first experience of a musical is a memorable one.”
The 3 Little Pigs is suitable for ages three and above and plays at the Town Hall from Tuesday, July 28 until Sunday, August 2.
