THE SUN shone down on Ardencote as it celebrated the opening of its newly-built 18-hole golf course with a corporate golf day.

Nestled just outside the leafy Warwickshire village of Claverdon, Ardencote has a reputation as a first-class hotel, spa, wedding venue and golf course.

Never one to stand still, however, Ardencote is always looking for area’s to improve and fine tweek its offering.

The transformation of its delightful nine-hole course into a USGA-standard 18-hole, par 67 course is just one example of this desire to be the very best it can.

And to celebrate the fantastic transformation the Ardencote team invited a selection of its corporate friends and contacts for its inaugural corporate day to give them some first-hand experience of the stunning new course and the corporate package experience that is now on offer which feature tea/coffee and bacon sandwiches on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a two-course lunch in the restaurant – packages are available from just £32.50 per person.

The day was sponsored by Rybrook Warwick BMW, Greene King, Freax Adventures, Clements & Church and Ardencote’s charity partner Northleigh House School.

The winning team of the four ball competition was Calor Gas and Volvo Truck & Bus.

Competitions were also run for second place, longest drive and nearest the pin.

Competitors on the day also had the chance to win a brand new BMW, donate by Rybrook BMW Warwick – all they had to do was sink a hole-in-one at the par 3 12th.

Luckily for them, nobody managed it.

Commenting on the new 18-hole course, Dale Huckerby, Managing Director of Ardencote, said: “When the piece of land next to Ardencote became available I saw it as a great opportunity to enhance the 9 hole golf course into an 18 hole golf course.

“I knew the opportunity would open the doors to new customers, new relationships and overall complete the offering Ardencote has for its customers.

“When designing the course I wanted to make sure that it could be completed in 3.5 hours or less, making it suitable for all handicaps, ages and genders and I believe we have achieved this.”

The new course really is the icing on the cake for Ardencote – so whether you want to play golf, spend the day or weekend in the spa and leisure club, or use the fabulous hotel and its facilities to enjoy a stay, it really has something for everyone.
